Overlooked goods. New possibilities.

Find a second act for surplus.

The original purpose is only the starting point. We research other applications and buyer groups for overlooked goods, then identify the evidence needed to make an idea useful.

AI-assisted ideas, clearly labeled. Initial seller pilot: U.S. automation and controls businesses.

You keep the inventory.

You approve the listing.

You receive the payment.

A small batch. A clear process.

From your shelf
to a considered sale.

Start with ten items from a finished project, a canceled order, or an inventory shelf that deserves a second look.

Show what you have.

Tell us about the batch. For a review, we’ll need complete labels, condition photos, quantities, and the owner’s supporting records.

Check the opportunity.

We explore another application and who might need it, using the known facts. We check condition, suitability, demand evidence, and likely costs before agreeing what to pursue.

Approve the details.

We prepare the listing. You confirm its facts, price, shipping, and returns before it is published through your seller account.

Sell, ship, reconcile.

You receive payment and fulfill the order. We keep the sales records together and reconcile the agreed fee against actual proceeds.

A working partnership: you provide accurate technical information, confirm availability, and pack and ship. Dexter handles the agreed sales administration. Every item is assessed on its own evidence.

Start where the facts are clear

Good parts.
Known history.
A reachable next buyer.

The initial focus is small, traceable industrial automation spares held by knowledgeable U.S. businesses.

Outside the initial scope: safety equipment, untested used goods, unknown ownership, suspected counterfeits, recalled or hazardous items, repairs, exports, and transferable software licenses.

  • Exact identification

Complete manufacturer and part numbers, suffixes and revisions, with clear label photographs.

  • Supported condition

Unused or owner-tested components with documented condition, provenance, and no known resale restriction.

  • Practical fulfillment

Parcel-shippable lots, confirmed stock, and an owner ready to answer technical questions and dispatch orders.

  • Evidence worth pursuing

Relevant market research and enough potential proceeds to justify everyone’s work. An asking price alone does not prove demand.

Aligned around the actual sale

An agreed share
of net proceeds.

25%proposed pilot commission

The starting proposal is a 25% service fee on net transaction proceeds. Scope, deductions, payment timing, and the final rate are agreed in writing before work begins.

Net proceeds include item and buyer-paid shipping receipts, excluding sales tax, less agreed marketplace and fulfillment costs, refunds, and return holdbacks.

Listing prices, sales timing, and recovery are never guaranteed. Marketplace costs and seller obligations remain with the inventory owner.

Buyer pays you.
We invoice our fee.

The buyer pays through your seller account. After you fulfill the order and we reconcile proceeds and adjustments, Dexter invoices the agreed service fee. The review form does not collect a payment or create a purchase.

The work behind the listing

A sales desk
for the details.

  • Organized identity, condition, and pricing evidence.
  • Listing drafts tied to the owner’s approval.
  • Stock checks and a record of listing changes.
  • Receipts, refunds, and commission reconciliation.
AI-assisted research · unverified

A new use.
A buyer with a reason.

Our discovery workbench starts with real public sourcing leads and recorded inventory. AI explores another application, the buyer problem it could solve, the source facts behind it, and a practical next check. Research spans reusable materials and equipment.

Each idea is labeled AI-generated and unverified, with its requirements and limits. Safety, effectiveness, compatibility, and demand need evidence. Source leads are research starting points; a seller agreement and owner approval come before any listing.

Why Dexter?

A different buyer can change the story.

Timothy Dexter’s trading stories turn on an enduring idea: goods overlooked in one place may be useful somewhere else. Finding that connection takes curiosity, coordination, and people who know the goods.

Before we begin

The useful
questions.

A good arrangement makes responsibilities clear from the beginning.

Do you buy my inventory outright?

The initial service works with stock you already own. You retain ownership and storage, while Dexter performs the sales work we agree on. If a direct sale to an established surplus buyer would suit you better, compare that option before deciding.

Where will the parts be listed?

The initial approach uses your existing, authorized marketplace seller account, such as eBay. You approve each listing before publication. This website is a service inquiry site; it does not present live goods for sale.

Who gets the buyer’s money and ships the goods?

You do, as the seller. Buyer payments go through your seller account. You are responsible for confirmed stock, packing, dispatch, returns, and marketplace obligations. Dexter invoices its separately agreed service fee.

What if an item does not sell?

No completed sale means no commission earned on that item under the proposed pilot arrangement. Any marketplace or other agreed costs still need to be considered. We review the evidence and pricing without promising a sale date.

What happens if the buyer gets a refund?

Refunds reduce net proceeds and can reduce the commission earned. If a fee has already been paid, a credit may be due to the owner. The agreement sets the timing and treatment of refunds, holdbacks, and other adjustments.

Do I need to give you my marketplace password?

No. Account work must use the marketplace’s authorized delegation tools, or you can publish approved drafts yourself. Never send passwords, banking credentials, or sensitive account details through the inquiry form.
